4. London Haydn Quartet - Evening Concert (£14)
- St John Sub Castro Abinger Pl Lewes, BN7 United Kingdom (map)
This evening's concert features the esteemed London Haydn Quartet. Performing on period instruments with classical bows, the quartet are experts on the music of Haydn and Beethoven, and a chance to hear them perform Beethoven's final quartet using the equipment for which it was written is not one to be missed! LHQ are no strangers to Lewes; many of its members having played at LCMF before. They also performed earlier this year for the Nicholas Yonge Society. This concert, paired with the evening's late night recital of lute and song, demonstrates how exciting and relevant music can be, even when written more than 300 years ago, and performed on authentic instruments.
