This intensely romantic string sextet is an early work by Arnold Schoenberg, written in 1899. Based on a poem by German poet Richard Dehmel, its deeply ambitious and unprecedented use of harmony caused outrage among early audiences. It is today a staple of the romantic chamber music repertoire and a work cherished by many. Join us for a late night performance in the intimate space of All Saints.
