Bartok here precedes a feast of little-known Romantic, French music. We welcome the Eusebius Quartet back to Lewes following their sold-out Christmas concert in Lewes. They are joined by pianist Alasdair Beatson to perform Gabriel Pierné's almighty Piano Quintet, dedicated to Fauré, whose own piano quintet we shall hear in the Festival Finale concert. This is preceded by Cécile Chaminade's second piano trio, composed in the late nineteenth century.
